RS21 Cyprus at the Nautical Limassol Club
As a proud part of the historic Nautical Limassol Club (NLC), RS21 Cyprus is bringing a new era of competitive sailing to the island. By introducing the modern RS21 fleet, we are not just promoting team racing—we are elevating it to a truly professional level. At the core of our project is the perfect blend of the NLC’s rich maritime heritage, our high-speed boats, and the unparalleled synergy of two world sailing legends. By training with us, you adopt Olympic-level experience, ambition, and standards.
Ihor Matviienko
Olympic Champion, Chief Visionary,
and Head of Training
Igor is a global sports legend and a gold medalist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games (470 class). His remarkable Olympic victory earned him a place in the Guinness World Records for the fewest penalty points. A World and European Champion, Ihor brings immense experience from elite-level racing. At RS21 Cyprus, he personally shapes the structure, ambitions, and highest training standards, helping both amateurs and seasoned racers reach a professional level.
Pavlos Kontides
Two-Time Olympic Medalist, the Benchmark
of Modern Sailing, and the Pride of Cyprus
Pavlos is the only Olympic medalist in the history of Cyprus, securing silver in London (2012) and Paris (2024). He is a two-time World Champion, European Champion, and a proud recipient of the prestigious Rolex World Sailor of the Year award. His involvement in the club inspires athletes to achieve new milestones and offers a unique opportunity to learn tactics and discipline directly from an active leader in the global rankings.
The collaboration between Ihor Matviienko and Pavlos Kontides creates an extraordinary foundation for growth. When your training is guided by figures whose names are permanently written into sailing history, stepping onto the water is no longer just leisure. It transforms into a precise, technical, and truly professional team effort at Cyprus’s most historic and respected nautical club.
